English synonyms:
Bird Family :Anserini - Geese, Atypical Ducks & Pygmy-geese
Red Data Status :Least Concern
Remarks :There was a flock of approximately 200-250 Bar-headed Geese. During my photo session at some moment I saw that one goose in the group instructing to other geese, perhaps junior members of the group, to move away from him. During this process he down his neck parallel to the ground as clearly visible from the photo captured at that moment. This may either be an alarm call posture when anybody makes a closer approach to them and remain for a long time [e.g. fisherman or photographer] or some time dominant male also do the same thing to show their dominance on the flock. - SS
