Remarks :On 20th April 2016, when we were going to Sahstraling Lake garden, we observed a pair of Indian Robin dancing and singing and playing around our second vehicle-Mahindra Thar. We just overlooked them that day. Next day evening our daughter registered same movements while playing with her friends. On third day when we washing our car we suddenly observe that Indian Robin pair kept coming in and out into the hollow rear fender of Mahindra Thar. We didn’t know for sure… Is that pair searching for nesting place? On Monday morning of 25th April 2016 while waiting for my daughter’s school bus we saw female Indian Robin enter hastily into the rear fenders of Thar with nesting material ….! We instantly confirm their intent-they really planned to build nest in our Thar.….! On close observation, (when pair is not nearby) we found their incomplete nest. It is a shallow cup like pad of grass, roots, fibers, hair, feathers and miscellaneous soft materials+ dirt. Border of nest is look like decorated with some dried wild climber with small red berries. We have other transportation option and we only use Thar for special birding trips maybe twice or thrice in month. We guess maybe it’s the reason behind their choice for nest. Anyways we decided to give rest to our Thar and observe their nesting development. VP&PM
