Remarks :Nesting on the rooftop of a house. It used to be a common phenomenon, the nesting of White-backed Vultures on the rooftops in Naliya town and in many other villages of the Abdasa subdistrict of the Kutch district in Gujarat. These houses were generally of the Jain community people, who believe in non-violence. As the vulture populations have declined all over India, such views are becoming very uncommon. JT(9 March 2004)
