|Remarks :||This species is very localized in its distribution within the district of Kutch.
Freshwater wetlands with emergent reeds and Typha vegetation provided excellent habitat for the species.
A colony of some 200 birds thrive successfuly near the edge of the Great Rann where a freshwater spring feeds the water supply and keeps the
right kind of habitat alive for this species. - JT
