| Rajesh Panwar is an agriculture graduate from India’s best agriculture university i.e. Pantnagar University. He has vast experience of 10 years of working with communities in various parts of Uttarakhand. He is passionate about nature photography and conservation of wildlife. He is extensively working in the field of community based tourism and wildlife tourism since last 5 years. Birding and bird photography is his focal area of interest. He has photographed more than 350 species and watched more than 475 species of birds in various parts of India. His wildlife and nature photographs have been awarded at state and national level competitions.
He combined his passion with his profession by opening his own birding site in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. He named it “Camp Milieu- A Birding Paradise” (www.milieuhospitality.in) to show flying wonders of this region to bird and nature lovers across the globe.
He started bird, wildlife and nature photography with a digital camera of Sony (DSC H-5) in 2008 followed by a DSLR of Nikon (D3000) and now he is using Nikon D5100 with 18-55 mm and 70-300 mm lenses of Nikkor.
He imparts training on birding and organizes bird watching camps for bird and nature enthusiasts. He has a birding club on facebook to spread awareness on birds and birding which is known as Twitcher Birding Club.
He is a master trainer of Community Based Tourism and specializes in homestays management. One of his remarkable works in the field of community based tourism is development and promotion of homestays in Jim Corbett’s own Village - Chhoti Haldwani near Corbett Tiger Reserve. It is one of the most successful modules of community based tourism initiatives in Uttarakhand state.
