|Taxonomic Notes :||Monotypic. Previously considered conspecific with Himalayan Forest Thrush Zoothera salimalii and Sichuan Forest Thrush Zoothera griseiceps under the name Plain-backed Thrush Zoothera mollissima.
Note that the three species are so similar that it has not been possible to positively identify many of the images to species. Such images of Zoothera mollissima sunsu lato are retained here.
